Koru Berry Farm Wedding, Kelley & Jamey
Kelley and Jamey’s Koru Berry Farm wedding in Homestead, Iowa was a hit not only for their guests, but for their wedding planners as well! We had so much fun getting to help them with their setup, and all the animals we got to see throughout the day just made everything better!

Kelley and Jamey had booked me as their wedding planner long before they even booked the venue, which meant I got to help them plan their wedding from the beginning! We had toured a few wedding venues before Koru Berry Farm, but once the couple saw it in person, they were hooked.
Koru Berry Farm is a gorgeous venue, and one of my favorites in the Eastern Iowa area (mostly because of the farm animals, but the beautiful venue draws me in too)! With 22 acres to see and take pictures on, there’s no limit to the picture perfect spots Koru has to offer! The space itself can sit 300 guests, and is a mix between modern and country chic, but has all the class of a perfect wedding venue!
Koru Berry Farm wedding ceremony
If you’ve been to Koru Berry Farm, you know they have quite a few acres, but the best place to have your ceremony is infront of their large oak tree. It’s hidden back behind the vineyard and makes for a very intimate and secluded ceremony space. While most guests can walk to the oak tree through the vineyard, the owners have golf carts they use to help cart guests (and the bride herself) over to the ceremony area. The staff at Koru Berry Farm do all the setup for the ceremony seating, as well as the teardown, which is one less thing the couple has to worry about!
Kelley and Jamey opted to have their ceremony outside under the oak tree, and they ended up having some sheer ivory fabric draped in the branches, which just added to the overall natural beauty of the space. You really don’t need to do much to the ceremony space to make it stand out. It is truly beautiful on its own! However, Kelley and Jamey did bring some white lanterns to line their aisle with, which was simple enough that it didn’t take away from the beauty of the scenery.
Koru Berry Farm wedding reception
One of my favorite perks about getting married at Koru Berry Farm, is all the farm animals they have onsite! The owners have miniature donkeys, peacocks, sheep, emus, piggies, and more! What’s really cool, is that they encourage your guests to explore the land and meet with these critters during your cocktail hour! Grab a drink at the bar after the ceremony, then head outside to see all the cute farm animals the venue has! Sometimes the owners even let the critters roam the land (with the couples consent) so your guests can pet them, take photos with them, and give them all the pets!
Kelley and Jamey will go down in history for having one of the coolest wedding receptions. Why? Because throughout cocktail hour we got greeted by all of the animals at Koru- including their two miniature donkeys who had saddles full of beer! The mini donkeys walked around during coktail hout handing out beer to guests, and it was such a fun expirience!
After the coktail hour, we introduced out newlyweds into the reception, cut some cake, shared a few toasts, then went right into dinner. After dinner the couple shared their first dance followed by their parent dances, which officially kicked off the dancefloor!
Overall I had a blast getting to help Kelley and Jamey plan their big day at Koru Berry Farm, and I hope I get to go back to this venue soon! Thank you to all the amazing vendors who helped kick this wedding off!
