A Bella Sala Event Center Wedding, Miranda and Trent

Miranda and Trent’s wedding at the Bella Sala Event Center in Tiffin, Iowa was a rustic country lovers dream! From the cowhide rugs lining the ceremony aisle, all the way down to their branding ceremony, Miranda and Trent had a country chic wedding that turned heads in all the right ways!

Bella Sala Event Center is a great venue to host a large wedding, or even a smaller one if you prefer to split the room in half. It’s centrally located, yet surrounded by a wooded area that makes you feel secluded, perfect for those intimate outdoor wedding ceremonies! One of my favorite things about this venue, is that no matter your guest count, or how much space you actually plan on using, it doesn’t ever feel “too empty”, which is a concern I’ve heard from many couples. In fact, we’re able to create a floorplan before the big day to make sure every square inch feels like it flows nicely together, making sure there are no empty spaces.

Another feature they have that I like, is that they offer two bridal suites. While most venues only offer one, or they give the groomsmen a ridiculously small room to get ready in, Bella Sala has two very large rooms for both parties. Each room has natural lighting, and offers a very simple yet modern design, perfect for large groups to get ready and take pictures in.

Bella Sala Event Center Wedding Ceremony

While Bella Sala’s typical wedding ceremony is infront of their waterfall fountain, Miranda and Trent opted to have their ceremony on the far side of the venues outdoor area. The couple decided on this layout for a few reasons, #1 being that they wanted a longer aisle and shorter rows so all 200 guests who attended their ceremony could see. Whereas infront of the waterfall, they’d have a shorter aisle and longer rows, resulting in some of their guests having an obstructed view of their ceremony.

The design of the ceremony was very country chic. The couple brought in a barn wood arch, and had their florist drape beautiful arrangements from the top, so the flowers look like they’re cascading down. We then placed the couples’ and their familys stash of cowhide rugs down the length of the aisle as a runner, and it turned out so cool!

When you first come to tour the ceremony space, you might get worried about the housing develpoments being so close (literally right behind the waterfall), but when everything is in full bloom, you feel completely secluded. That’s one of my favorite features to Bella Sala’s outdoor ceremony area, you just feel so surrounded by nature, you completely forget you’re just outside of Iowa City! Another nice feature Bella Sala offers, is an indoor ceremony option if there’s inclement weather. Since their ballroom can be split in half, it’s easy to setup an indoor ceremony right next to your reception. And the best part? Bella Sala will handle all the chair setup for your ceremony no matter if it’s inside or outside! I’d call that a win win!

Bella sala event center wedding reception

A unique feature that Bella Sala offers, is their ability to split their ballroom in half for bigger/smaller guest counts. While Miranda and Trent rented out the entire room, I’ve had other couples who split their room in half for their reception, so you can see the pros and cons of each. Miranda and Trent had a guest count of around 400, so they needed the entire space. We were also able to manage the floorplan to ensure the space flowed nicely, while not having tables feel crammed, even though we included space for their dance floor, photo booth, and buffet tables.

For the tables themselves, the couple opted for black table cloths that really popped against the white walls of the venue. We had three different types of table decor setups; #1 being a floral arrangement in the center, with votive candles and a white granite table number. The second table decor setup consisted of five gold multiheighted taper candles, mixed with some loose greenery and floral buds. The final table had three multi heighted pillar candles, with a mix of greenery and floral buds. Each table included a custom white granite table number that the couple made, hot pink napkins, a black dinner plate, and gold silverware.

The Signage at Bella Sala Event Center

The Bella Sala Event Center has so many beautiful places to stage your signage, but my favorite place for it is in their entry way with the venues lounge setup. The room itself is very cozy, and makes any added decor you throw in there pop.

Miranda and Trent had a few different signage stations they placed around the venue, the first being this gold shelf they rented from Borrow My Vintage. The couple opted to display a "‘Generations of Love’ setup which includes wedding photos of their family through the years. Such as the couples’ parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and so on. This is such a fun trend that I love getting to see, and I hope it soon turns itself into a wedding tradition.

Another signage option they had, was their handmade seating chart (which you can see below in their photo gallery).

The Country Details

Miranda was going for a country chic look when it came to her big day, and there were subtle hints to her theme throughout the wedding, such as her leather bouquet wrap with a “B” for Bertsche, her new last name.

The couple also hinted at their theme with their ceremony setup. The couple brought in a barn wood arch, and had their florist drape beautiful arrangements from the top, so the flowers look like they’re cascading down. We then placed the couples’ and their familys stash of cowhide rugs down the length of the aisle as a runner, and it turned out so cool!

Finally, the couple used a metal frame draped with cowhide rugs for their photo booth, and it turned out so cool!
