The Celebration Farm Wedding, Kyle & Kelly

Kyle and Kelly hired me pretty early on in the wedding planning process, which meant I got to go venue touring with them! We went and toured a few different wedding venues in Eastern Iowa, but The Celebration Farms stuck out to this couple, and eventually was booked for their date!

You know a wedding day is going to be great, when the couple is awesome to work with; and that’s EXACTLY how I felt working with Kyle and Kelly for their wedding! They were so sweet throughout the planning process, and they were even sweeter on the wedding day!

Kyle and Kelly had a color scheme of black, white, and sage, with a main focus on black and white. When you look back on their detail photos of the day, you can see that the only color they really wanted to add in, was through greenery. All other decor elements were strictly b&w, which in the end came together beautifully!

The Bridal Party

One of my favorite things about Kyle and Kelly’s wedding, was that the couple dressed in white, while their bridal party dressed in all black. This allowed for the couple to really stand out in all of their bridal portraits, and the crowd during the reception!

The Ceremony

The Celebration Farms in Iowa City has a gorgeous outside ampitheater that is perfect for any outdoor ceremony! You honestly don’t need much when it comes to ceremony decor for this space, as nature plays a huge role in aesthetics! However, we still wanted to spruce up the aisle, so we added floral arrangements to each end of the chairs lining the aisle. I must say, it really did make a difference in the feel for the ceremony space overall.

The Decor

The Celebration Farms has a few pieces of decor they let couples use free of charge, so the couple opted to use the venues pillar candles, wood stumps, and votive candles. Their florist Ellie with Ellabank blossoms then went around and added in greenery and whiite buds to really spruce it up! I then went around to each place setting and laid out dinner plates, silverware, and menus.

I LOVE adding full place settings like charger plates, dinner plates, silverware, napkins, menus, water goblets, etc. because it makes your guest tables feel more decorated and full.

Welcome Table

For the welcome table, we kept it pretty simple with couple photos, greenry and floral, and a few lanterns. Kyle and Kelly went with a standard guestbook AND a more unique twist for their guests to write messages on; They included a wine barrel lid! The wine barrel lid had the couples inital and last name engraved into it, and guests had the opportunity to sign that as well. After the wedding, the couple took it home and hung it on their wall to always remember the loved ones who celebrated with them!
