Rachel and Kody’s Wedding At Walker Homestead
Right from the start, Rachel and Kody were such an awesome couple to work with, so I KNEW their wedding was going to be amazing! Little did I know exactly HOW much fun I was going to have with them on their wedding day. Plus, it was at one of my favorite venues- Walker Homestead!
Rachel and Kody started off their wedding morning by getting ready at their venue, Walker Homestead , while I set up all their decor for the reception. While their decor was simple, it was truly stunning! On their long farmhouse guest table, their florist Ellabank Blossoms set up greenery strands running the length of each table, while I went behind her and placed pillar candles and votive candles. We then placed gold charger plates and vintage dinner plates at each guest place setting, along with gold silverware and water goblets.
Their head table was one of my favorites that I’ve ever seen though! We had Borrow My Vintage bring an adorable tan settee for the couple to sit on along with a small sweetheart table, and two side tables on either side of the settee. We then placed a circular gold arbor behind the sweetheart table and hung the couples’ neon sign, and placed hanging greenery on it to tie in with their table setting. For the table decor, I wove pillar candles and votives in and out of their greenery, and placed loose florals throughout. I then took some larger pillar candlesticks and placed them on both side tables, and along the bottom of the sweetheart table.
It wasn’t too long after setup that we had to head downtown for their ceremony, so we packed up and headed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rachel and Kody opted not to do a staged first look, but rather have their first look be down the aisle, which was truly such a special moment (check out the photo gallery below). After their ceremony, the entire brial party jumped on their party bus to drive over to the place where Rachel and Kody first met… Brothers Bar! After their pit stop, the bridal party drove back to Walker Homestead to take the family and bridal party photos.
We rolled through speeches and toasts, the cake cutting, dinner, and finally- dancing! The couple opted to have their dance floor outside, and it was a huge hit! As you can see from their photos below, they started their dancing hour right at sunset under the hanging string lights, which made for a picture perfect moment.
