Amy & Joe's Winter Wedding at Deer Creek Mountain Camp

Amy and Joe had a truly stunning wedding up in the mountains of Bailey, Colorado at Deer Creek Mountain Camp. Although we weren't expecting snow on the wedding day, it sure added a touch of beauty on their special day.

I loved the setup of the venue, because it was a very intimate mix of camping in a winter wonderland. The wedding venue itself was spread out to three different locations; one was the lodge where guests were served dinner, then there was the dining hall where the cocktail hour and dancing hour were held, and then there was the gym which we transformed into a kids area. Then of course you had little cabins spread out around the camp for the guests and vendors to stay at.

From the moment guests arrived on the Friday before their wedding, the snow was coming down nonstop in light little flurries. There were little cabins throughout the campground that guests stayed at, and it really created a sort of intimate feel to the whole weekend. Afterall, how often do you get to spend your wedding weekend with your friends and family so close?

The morning of the wedding the snow was still falling, but it created beautiful scenery throughout the mountains, the entire day was like something out of a hallmark movie! There were deer coming up to guests and walking around the camp, along with other cute little creatures (luckily I didn't see any bears)! The venue owners Brent and Tanja were incredibly helpful, as they shoveled the 2 feet of snow off the road and walkways of the camp throughout the entire day. I ended up staying at the campsite to help the bride and groom, and when I woke up on the wedding day, the venue owner Brent had shoveled a pathway from my cabin to my car, and even cleared the snow off my car for me! That alone made a great start to my day, and showed me just how much care these owners put into not only the guest experience, but their vendor experience as well.

The décor setup for their wedding was beautiful. Amy is a big crystal lover, and she decided to incorporate them into her table centerpieces. Each table had a different kind of crystal (selenite, aventurine, citrine, fire quartz, etc.) and I must say, the vibes in that room were off the charts.

The Ceremony

Regardless of the weather, Amy and Joe made the decision to be married outdoors, and it created some of the most stunning ceremony photos I’ve ever seen

The ceremony was absolutely perfect. Amy and Joe decided that despite the weather, they wanted to have their ceremony outside in front of the mountains My favorite part of the ceremony included Amy and Joe's daughter Kolby. From the second I arrived to the camp on Friday Kolby and I became best buds, so it came to no surprise when she started asking me to carry her around the camp and wanting to help me with my tasks throughout the day. During the ceremony, I offered to carry Kolby to the start of the aisle then put her down so she could walk and throw petals (as she was the flower girl, and the start of the aisle was a bit of a walk from where I had the bridal party line up). However, when I arrived to the start of the aisle, Kolby absolutely refused to have me put her down, so I ended up carrying her down the aisle as she threw the flower petals. Then Amy came down, and she looked truly stunning. The entire ceremony itself was beautiful, but the colors of the bridal party mixed with the white snow were just *chefs kiss* perfection.

Bridal Portraits

After the ceremony, Amy and Joe went up the mountain to take their bridal portraits

After the ceremony guests went up to the dining hall for the cocktail hour, while Amy and Joe went up in the mountains to take their couple portraits. The kids of the group went to the gym, where we had sent up bounce houses, snacks, games, and even a popcorn machine (let's just say those kids were in heaven).

After the cocktail hour, we moved guests down to the lodge where we introduced the bridal party as well as Amy and Joe, then we tackled speeches as dinner was being prepared. Dinner was served family style to guests, and we had the bar open for people to grab drinks as well.

After dinner, we moved guests back to the dining hall where the real entertainment was waiting... The Sam Grow Band! If you don't know who Sam Grow is, he's a famous country music singer from Nashville, and boy I gotta say he was incredible! Amy and Joe took part in their first dance as well as their formal dances, cut their stunning cake created by their friend Amelia, and then the partying began! Everyone loved listening to Sam throughout the evening, and after their performance they even stayed to party with everyone.

Overall Amy and Joe's wedding day was absolutely perfect! I am so thankful I was their day of coordinator, not only because Amy and Joe are so awesome, but because their friends and family are too!
